Yerevan refutes Baku’s new disinformation over ceasefire breach![]() April 12, 2025 - 13:07 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia has again rejected Azerbaijan’s disinformation concerning alleged violations of the ceasefire. The Armenian Ministry of Defense responded to a statement from Azerbaijan’s military authority, which claimed that on April 10 at approximately 8:55 p.m., Armenian armed forces opened fire towards Azerbaijani positions in the northeastern section of the border. The Armenian side stated that this information does not reflect reality. Baku alleged that Armenian units fired from positions located in the Vardenis and Goris areas, and that in response, Azerbaijani forces conducted “appropriate retaliatory measures.” Armenia’s defense ministry reaffirmed Yerevan’s earlier proposal to establish a joint mechanism aimed at investigating ceasefire violation incidents or such allegations. According to the statement, this proposal has yet to receive a response from Baku. Armenian officials once again emphasized their willingness to examine the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense’s claims—on the condition that supporting evidence is provided to the Armenian side. In recent weeks, Azerbaijan has repeatedly accused Armenian forces of firing at its positions.
