Russian official: leaving EAEU will be painful for Armenians

PanARMENIAN.Net - Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Mikhail Galuzin, in an interview with Izvestia, commented on the possible consequences of Armenia’s withdrawal from the Eurasian Economic Union. He believes that such a move would pose a serious challenge to the Armenian population.

"If Armenia opts for a European path, this will objectively lead to a revision of the established economic relations that currently exist within the EAEU between Yerevan and its partners. It will probably be a rather painful process, including, unfortunately, for the population of Armenia," the politician said.

It is worth recalling that in April, the President of Armenia signed a law initiating the country’s process of joining the European Union.
