Transfer of Vera Aghasyan’s remains from Artsakh to Armenia not yet confirmed![]() April 15, 2025 - 12:21 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The issue of transferring Vera Aghasyan’s remains to Armenia is still under discussion, according to the National Security Service of Armenia, as reported by Radar Armenia. “The question of transporting Vera Aghasyan’s body to Armenia is currently under discussion. At this stage, no further information can be provided,” the NSS stated. Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Health had earlier claimed that if Armenia declines to receive Aghasyan’s remains, the matter will be resolved by Azerbaijani authorities. Vera Aghasyan died on October 23, 2024, in Stepanakert. She was one of the Armenians who chose to stay in her home following the forced displacement of Artsakh’s Armenian population by Azerbaijan. Azerbaijani sources stated the cause of death was acute pulmonary and cardiac failure due to pulmonary artery thrombosis. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
