$1.37 billion allocated to Karabakh since 2018, PM says![]() April 15, 2025 - 15:55 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced during a parliamentary session reviewing the implementation of the 2021–2026 government program that Armenia has allocated $1.37 billion (AMD 548 billion ) in various forms of support to Nagorno-Karabakh since 2018. “From 2018 to now, we’ve allocated $1.37 billion or 548 billion drams to Karabakh under different budget lines. What were these funds for? We must help people work and live,” he said, according to Aysor.am . He added that there are still people displaced from Baku and Sumgait in the 1990s who ask, “Why are we not receiving anything?” Pashinyan noted, “Let’s not just dismiss them. These formulas must change. I’m not even mentioning what Armenian citizens say.” The prime minister highlighted that compared to the period from 2012 to 2017, support to Karabakh from the Armenian state budget rose by 367 billion AMD—or 137%—between 2018 and September 2023. Pashinyan emphasized that these figures reflect the government's consistent policy aimed at easing Nagorno-Karabakh’s socio-economic problems. However, he also underlined the need to revise support mechanisms to address questions of internal justice. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
