No direct pressure but we feel neglected, says Shahramanyan

PanARMENIAN.Net - President of Artsakh Samvel Shahramanyan has stated that he has not experienced any direct pressure from Armenian authorities, either physical or in the form of legal threats. He made the remarks during a conversation with reporters.

However, he emphasized that if being ignored could be seen as pressure, then such pressure does exist—referring to the complete lack of communication from Armenian officials since the forced displacement, Sputnik Armenia reports.

“If you consider this to be pressure, then yes, there is pressure. I believe we must be acknowledged. All issues—especially social ones—have solutions, and we are prepared to support the Armenian government in that framework. But this attitude, where we are made to feel like outsiders, is unacceptable,” said Shahramanyan.

*On February 22, 2024, it was reported that Samvel Shahramanyan was questioned as a witness in a criminal case at Armenia’s Anti-Corruption Committee.

Later, on June 21, it was revealed that Armenia’s special police forces broke into the Artsakh Representative Office in Yerevan, smashing the gate and using heavy equipment to remove the official vehicle assigned to Shahramanyan. Investigators had already sealed the car, stating the actions were part of a criminal investigation.*
