Lalayan, a member of Armenia’s men’s weightlifting team, lifted 200 kg and then 210 kg in the snatch, earning him first place in the event, reports Armenpress. In the clean and jerk, Lalayan successfully hoisted 240 kg, once again placing first. His total of 450 kg across both disciplines crowned him double European champion. Armenia’s women’s team members Alexandra Grigoryan, Anna Amroyan, and Liana Gyurjyan claimed silver medals at the European Championships. On the men’s side, Garik Karapetyan became European champion, while Simon Martirosyan, Gor Sahakyan, and Rafik Harutyunyan earned silver medals.
