More schools join Armenia’s AI education pilot![]() April 22, 2025 - 17:15 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - According to an order signed by Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan, the number of schools participating in the AI Generation experimental school program has increased. The program is a joint initiative between the Ministry and the Foundation for Armenian Science and Technology (FAST). Starting from the 2025/26 academic year, 26 public schools from both Yerevan and the regions will join the program. The initiative is designed to shape educational paths for future scientists specializing in artificial intelligence. It targets students in grades 10–12, offering advanced mathematics, programming in Python, AI fundamentals, and applied project work. Currently, about 600 students are involved in the program. First-year results in algebra show that 51% of participants improved their performance, moving from a low to average or high level of achievement. Data from Tavush province schools reveal that the final algebra exam scores of 10th-grade participants in the AI Generation program were 2.2 times higher than the average scores of students studying the same subject outside the program. The evaluation highlighted that most students participated enthusiastically and found the program aligned with their academic and personal goals. The initiative also includes ongoing teacher training and support. By 2027, the program aims to expand in two more phases, ultimately reaching 45 schools. ![]() ![]() As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed.
