Pashinyan confirms readiness for peace agreement![]() April 24, 2025 - 11:37 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan hosted a delegation led by Theodoros Roussopoulos, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). Pashinyan presented the progress made regarding the peace treaty with Azerbaijan, reaffirming that Armenia remains committed to the peace agenda and is ready to sign the agreement. He highlighted the significance of PACE’s activities and the high standard of its discussions. In response, Roussopoulos praised the collaboration with Armenian parliamentarians and expressed hope that the partnership would continue to evolve effectively. During the meeting, the parties discussed democratic reforms underway in Armenia and government actions aimed at enhancing human rights protection. Roussopoulos commended these initiatives and reiterated PACE’s readiness to maintain its support and cooperation. The meeting concluded with both sides emphasizing the importance of deepening dialogue and expanding multilateral cooperation as a means to ensure stability and peace. Pashinyan has repeatedly stated that the draft peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan is already coordinated and awaits final signing. He has proposed initiating consultations with the Azerbaijani president on finalizing the document. On March 13, Armenia’s Foreign Ministry announced it had accepted Baku’s proposals on two previously unresolved articles and declared the agreement ready for signing. However, Azerbaijan later introduced new preconditions and claimed it was premature to discuss signing dates. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
