Мirzoyan, Рusopoulos discuss Armenia–CoE ties![]() April 24, 2025 - 11:53 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On April 23, Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with Theodoros Roussopoulos, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, who is currently in Yerevan. The two discussed issues related to Armenia–Council of Europe cooperation. Both sides expressed satisfaction that Armenia’s democratic reforms have already led to tangible progress. Mirzoyan and Roussopoulos emphasized the importance of upholding democratic principles, especially against the backdrop of current global challenges. The Minister praised the principled stance the Council of Europe and its bodies have taken on matters concerning Armenia. They also exchanged views on regional and international developments. Mirzoyan presented recent updates on Armenia–Azerbaijan relations and stated that signing a peace treaty between the two countries could be a significant step toward establishing lasting peace in the region. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
