RA Prosecutor General reports decline in soldier deaths

PanARMENIAN.Net - In 2024, 27 soldiers died during service, Armenia’s Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan announced in the National Assembly.

"During 2024, 27 deaths of servicemen related to military service circumstances have been recorded, compared to 54 cases in 2023," she stated, according to Aysor.am.

Throughout 2024, the total number of military service-related incidents reached 2,093, showing a noticeable decrease. The number dropped by 265 cases, or 11.2 percent.

"In 2023, 2,358 cases were recorded," the Prosecutor General recalled.

According to her, out of the total registered cases, 762, or 36.4 percent, were accidents, while the remaining 1,331, or 63.6 percent, were classified as crimes. Among these, 715, or 53.7 percent, were military crimes, and 616, or 46.3 percent, were other types of crimes.

"During 2024, 27 deaths of servicemen related to military service circumstances have been recorded, compared to 54 cases in 2023," she reiterated.
