AMD 11 mln awarded to European Weightlifting Championship medalists

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian Weightlifting Federation has awarded 11 million drams to the athletes and coaches of the European Championships.

«Besides the state-awarded prizes, the federation also seeks to encourage athletes through its own resources. To this end, medalists of individual exercises at the European Championships were also awarded. The total prize fund allocated by the federation amounted to 11 million drams,» reads the federation’s announcement.

The President of the Armenian Weightlifting Federation, Arayik Harutyunyan, handed monetary awards to European Championship medalists Varazdat Lalayan, Garik Karapetyan, Gor Sahakyan, Rafik Harutyunyan, Anna Amroyan, Liana Gyurjyan, Alexandra Grigoryan, Garnik Cholakyan, Milena Khachatryan, and Tatev Hakobyan.

Rewards were also given to the Armenian men's national team's head coach Pashik Alaverdyan, coach Hakob Piloyan, women's national team head coach Artashes Nersisyan, coach Taron Tovmasyan, team doctor Davit Mosinyan, and team masseuse Roza Hovhannisyan.

Additionally, the federation president awarded national referee titles to European Champion Hripsime Khurshudyan and Garnik Abrahamyan, according to the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports.

Armenia’s men's and women's teams had emerged as the overall winners in the European Championships team rankings.
