Mkhitaryan on disallowed goal vs. Barcelona: "I’ll remember it for life"

Mkhitaryan on disallowed goal vs. Barcelona:

PanARMENIAN.Net - Inter Milan midfielder and former Armenia national team captain Henrikh Mkhitaryan reflected on his disallowed goal in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semifinal against Barcelona, calling it one he will remember for life.

“It was a crazy game. It was tough to play, but amazing to watch. Inter did everything it could, though I believe we could have played even better,” Mkhitaryan said in a post-match interview, as reported by Armenpress. “Barcelona applied a lot of pressure and had great control of the ball.”

Speaking about the video assistant referee (VAR) decision that ruled out his goal, the Armenian midfielder admitted he was deeply upset. “I’ll remember this disallowed goal for the rest of my life. I’m proud of my teammates—they played brilliantly. This is football, and we hope not to repeat such mistakes at home at San Siro,” he added.

The match between Inter and Barcelona ended in a 3–3 draw. Mkhitaryan scored but the goal was overturned after VAR review. The two teams will face off again next week at Inter’s home stadium, San Siro.
