HSBC Bank Armenia to organize Career Day for school children from regionsMay 29, 2009 - 22:12 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On June 1, 40 school children from underprivileged families in the regions will be hosted by HSBC Bank Armenia» CJSC for a Career Day organized together with Junior Achievement Armenia (JAA). The Career Day is for children to learn about the Bank's structure, the principles of financial services and the basics of banking. The Career Day is a follow-up to a series of lectures conducted by 14 volunteers from HSBC Bank Armenia at 16 schools in different regions of Armenia. Duringthe lectures HSBC volunteers delivered presentations on a number of topics in economics and finance. Forty of these children were selected and invited to attend the Career Day in HSBC Armenia's Head Office and National Service Centre. The event is aimed at raising the children's awareness of financial services and banking sector, inspiring them to fulfill their potential through education and achieve challenging and successful careers. The bank started its activity in 1996 as "Midland Armenia Bank" JSC. In 1998 it was renamed into "HSBC Bank Armenia" CJSC. The co-founders of the bank are the HSBC Group - 70%, and the investors representing the Armenian Diaspora. As of 31 March 2009, the total capital of the bank made AMD 14 877,392 thousand, the assets - AMD 128 233 974 thousand, the liabilities - AMD 113 356 582 thousand.
