Тerritorial concerns must be resolved through signed treaty: PM![]() May 26, 2025 - 15:01 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated during the second Yerevan Dialogue international forum that the peace agreement would address all concerns Azerbaijan currently has or may raise. Therefore, he said, the path to resolving these issues lies in signing the treaty—not avoiding it. “There are some concerning provisions in Azerbaijan’s Constitution,” Pashinyan noted. “We see that certain territorial claims against Armenia are embedded in their Constitution. However, we haven’t raised this separately because we believe the issue will be addressed in the treaty’s text. That is our approach,” he told 1lurer.am. “My position and call are as follows: we must focus on signing the peace agreement. I reaffirm that I, our government, and our political team are ready to move forward and take responsibility for establishing lasting and sustainable peace in our region,” the Prime Minister said. Pashinyan has previously stated that the draft peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan is already agreed upon and awaiting final signature. He has proposed to the President of Azerbaijan to initiate consultations for the signing of the finalized draft. On March 13, Armenia’s Foreign Ministry announced it had accepted Azerbaijan’s proposals on the two previously unresolved articles and that the peace treaty was ready for signing. Armenia expressed readiness to start consultations on the time and venue. However, Baku introduced new preconditions and stated it was still premature to set a date. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
