Aram Ghazaryan resigns as Lori governor for new role![]() June 2, 2025 - 17:06 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Aram Ghazaryan has been relieved of his duties as Governor of Lori Province by a government decision, as reported by Radar.am . Prior to this, Ghazaryan announced his resignation, stating that he is transitioning to a new role. “I am resigning from the position of Lori Governor and ending my political and party activities,” he declared. “This decision is due to my transition to another job, about which the competent authorities will make appropriate announcements in due course.” He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan for the trust and honor of serving Lori Province, as well as to the residents, staff, community leaders, fellow governors, and the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure for their support and cooperation. He also thanked members of the executive and legislative branches for their ongoing support, and his party colleagues for their unity and shared ideals. According to media reports, Ghazaryan is expected to be appointed Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and simultaneously take on the role of Chief of Police, Radar.am notes. Ghazaryan has been part of the police system since 2001, previously heading the regional departments of Kotayk and Shirak. Earlier, Aram Hovhannisyan has been dismissed from his positions as Chief of Police and Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, and his service in the police system has been terminated.
