Historic Louvre items to go on display in Yerevan

PanARMENIAN.Net - In September 2025, Armenia’s History Museum will host a joint exhibition with the Louvre Museum featuring over a dozen significant artifacts from the Louvre’s collection, transported under strict security measures. The announcement was made during a meeting between Armenia’s Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan and French Ambassador to Armenia Olivier Decottignies.

“This collaboration is not just a major cultural event, but also a vital step in strengthening our museums’ capabilities and professional development,” said Andreasyan, noting Armenia’s growing efforts in organizing international exhibitions in recent years.

According to the Ministry’s statement, Andreasyan welcomed the ambassador and thanked him for the ongoing and effective cooperation, emphasizing the strong and friendly ties between Armenia and France. She reaffirmed Armenia’s commitment to deepening bilateral collaboration across education, science, culture, youth, and sports.

Andreasyan highlighted a program promoting French language instruction titled “French as a Foreign Language: Training, Modernization and Promotion,” under which around 240 teachers have received training. She also referenced the “Colors and Lights of Armenian Impressionism” exhibition at the Barbizon Cultural Center, showcasing valuable works from Armenia’s National Gallery.

Ambassador Decottignies expressed gratitude for the warm reception and consistent support, emphasizing the trust-based partnership between Armenia and France. He stressed the importance of new initiatives and further collaboration.

The sides also discussed the work of the French University in Armenia (UFAR) and the Anatole France French Educational Complex, along with strategies for enhancing French language teaching in public schools.
