Iran calls on Armenia, Azerbaijan to finalize peace deal

PanARMENIAN.Net - Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei has called on Baku and Yerevan to accelerate the signing of a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan. His remarks were made during a press briefing, according to Minval.az .

“Iran has consistently emphasized the need to expedite the peace treaty process. Delays are unhelpful and may lead to renewed tensions,” the Iranian official said.

On July 10, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met in Abu Dhabi to discuss aspects of normalizing interstate relations. Both sides reaffirmed that bilateral negotiations are the most effective framework for addressing all issues related to normalization and agreed to continue this results-oriented dialogue. The meeting lasted five hours.
