Armenian deputy FM discusses Nordic-Baltic cooperation

PanARMENIAN.Net - On July 29, in New York, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan met with Dag Hartelius, State Secretary at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden, to discuss the dynamically developing relations between Armenia and Sweden, grounded in shared values and democratic principles.

Kostanyan briefed his counterpart on the ongoing cooperation between Armenia and the European Union, highlighting the Armenian government's commitment to deepening ties with the EU. In this context, the importance of dialogue within the Armenia–Northern Europe–Baltic countries format was emphasized.

Both parties acknowledged with satisfaction the dynamic development of bilateral relations and reaffirmed their willingness to strengthen cooperation in key areas of mutual interest, including cybersecurity, combating disinformation, and nuclear energy.

Regional and international developments were also addressed during the meeting. Deputy Minister Kostanyan updated Hartelius on the current status of Armenia–Turkey and Armenia–Azerbaijan normalization processes.

In January, National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan stated during a panel with Nordic-Baltic parliamentary leaders in Yerevan that despite the security threats facing Armenia in recent years, the country remains determined to advance its European integration.
