Land in Symphony of Stones area returned to Garni community![]() July 30, 2025 - 13:41 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - In the first half of 2025, nearly 483.5 million drams—equivalent to about $1.255 million—were recovered in damages caused to the Armenian state and municipalities in Kotayk Province through criminal proceedings. Additionally, one piece of real estate was returned to a local community under a prosecutor’s directive as part of state and public interest protection, according to the Prosecutor General’s Office. Specifically, based on a recommendation by the Kotayk Provincial Prosecutor's Office, the Garni community has regained ownership rights over a 0.10519-hectare plot of land located in the area of the natural monument known as the Basalt Organ or Symphony of Stones. The land had previously been alienated. Efforts to restore state ownership rights over the property are ongoing. As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed.
