Armenia–EAEU conference to be held in Yerevan in September![]() August 14, 2025 - 12:29 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenia–EAEU Conference will take place in Yerevan on September 5, announced Mher Avetisyan, leader of the My Country, My Armenia movement and coordinator of the international Immortal Regiment movement. According to Sputnik Armenia, the conference will feature well-known political and economic experts, with keynote speeches from political analysts Dmitri Simes and Fyodor Lukyanov. Avetisyan said the discussions will address relations between Armenia and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the union’s influence on Armenia’s economic and political development prospects. On August 14–15, the regular meeting of the Eurasian Economic Council’s Intergovernmental Council will be held in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, with Armenia represented by Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will not attend, as he is currently on vacation. Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”. Armenia will loan 2.9 billion drams to Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), according to a draft government decision. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has “strongly condemned” Armenia’s decision.
