Ex-radio director: criminal case against me has no basis in reality![]() September 1, 2025 - 18:39 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Former Executive Director of Public Radio of Armenia, Garegin Khumaryan, has dismissed the criminal case against him as “fabricated and completely unrelated to reality,” in response to a statement by Armenia’s Investigative Committee, Panorama.am reports. Khumaryan stated that the case concerns his legal attempt to challenge the outcome of the competition for the director’s post at Public Radio through the court system. He emphasized that the accusation made against him is entirely baseless. “It has no connection to reality. More than that, this is nothing but a disgraceful attempt to torpedo a civil-administrative appeal process using criminal prosecution tools,” said Khumaryan. According to the Investigative Committee, Khumaryan has been charged with falsifying a procedural document. As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed. David Vardanyan is the son of former Karabakh leader Ruben Vardanyan who who is currently imprisoned in Azerbaijan.
