Yerevan, berlin discuss peace prospects, cooperation![]() September 12, 2025 - 18:18 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On September 12, Armen Grigoryan, Secretary of Armenia’s Security Council, met in Berlin with Géza Andreas von Geyr, State Secretary of the German Foreign Ministry. Grigoryan presented the results of the agreements signed in Washington on August 8, highlighting the economic opportunities they create. The German official praised the Armenian government’s efforts toward ensuring lasting peace and stability in the region. The two sides also discussed the bilateral agenda between Armenia and Germany, including prospects for enhanced cooperation. Particular attention was given to new economic opportunities arising from unblocking regional communications, with both parties expressing readiness to collaborate in this direction. They also touched on energy cooperation and other pressing issues. On August 8 at the White House, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a joint declaration. In their presence, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov preliminarily signed the “Agreement on Peace and the Establishment of Interstate Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.” Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
