Pashinyan: we work daily on POW issue

PanARMENIAN.Net - At a government briefing on September 18, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan responded to U.S. President Donald Trump’s remarks regarding the possible return of Armenian prisoners of war.

“We are practically working to resolve this issue every day. Until there are tangible results, nothing more can be said, especially given how sensitive the issue is,” Pashinyan stated, according to 1lurer.am .

He added that beyond what is already publicly known, he cannot provide additional information: “What you all know, I cannot say more than that.”

In September 2023, following a nine-month blockade and the ethnic cleansing of Nagorno-Karabakh’s Armenian population, Azerbaijan captured former Artsakh presidents Arkadi Ghukasyan, Bako Sahakyan, and Arayik Harutyunyan, along with former state minister Ruben Vardanyan, foreign minister David Babayan, and other former officials. They face politically motivated charges that could result in life imprisonment. Their trial in Baku began on January 17.
