U.S. visa fees rise, Green Card lottery to cost $1

PanARMENIAN.Net - According to the U.S. Embassy, from October 1, 2025, Armenian citizens applying for B-1/B-2 (business or tourist) visas will pay an additional $250 upon approval, on top of the $185 application fee. This brings the total cost to at least $435, depending on individual cases, Factor.am reported.

The embassy also announced new requirements:

  • DS-160 form submission must be completed and confirmed in the system at least two full business days before the interview. The same confirmation number must be presented at the interview.
  • No changes to DS-160 confirmation number are allowed without canceling the interview appointment. If numbers do not match, the interview will be void, and rescheduling could take several weeks.

In addition, the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Consular Affairs has proposed introducing a $1 fee for the annual Green Card lottery application, which was previously free.
