Gagik Tsarukyan announces 2026 election bid

PanARMENIAN.Net - Gagik Tsarukyan, leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, has announced he will participate in the parliamentary elections scheduled for 2026.

“Yes, I’m preparing for it,” he said, as reported by News.am .

When asked whether he would run as part of an alliance or through a party, Tsarukyan responded: “It will be a proposal for Armenia. All the existing parties have expired. There’s no trust left. There is neither a person nor a party today capable of pulling the country out of this miserable, defeated state. There must be unity around an idea and a program.”

He emphasized that people don’t need to be politicians to want a better future: “A person might not be involved in politics but may still want our children and grandchildren to rise out of this weakened situation. Nothing is impossible.”

Tsarukyan said that the initiative would be based on concrete actions and real programs, not empty rhetoric.

“There will be a new team,” he added.

Parliamentary elections in Armenia are scheduled to take place in June 2026.
