Tsarukyan says Samvel Karapetyan is his friend

PanARMENIAN.Net - Prosperous Armenia Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan told Factor TV that businessman and philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan, currently under arrest, is both his friend and close associate.

“Samvel Karapetyan is my friend, a like-minded person,” Tsarukyan said, as reported by Factor.am .

When asked whether he agreed with claims from Karapetyan’s inner circle that the businessman is a political prisoner, Tsarukyan repeated: “Karapetyan is my friend and a like-minded person.”

Responding to a journalist’s question about whether his public support for Karapetyan could make him a target of persecution, Tsarukyan stated he had no such concern.

“I have no fears whatsoever. You know me: what I think, I say,” he added.

Samvel Karapetyan, who has been in custody for two months, recently announced the launch of a new political team. He emphasized that the group would adopt its own approach, reject divisive politics, and remain open to cooperation with allies. Karapetyan also noted that many professionals working in government do not share its values but have yet to find a way out of the current situation.
