Тrump misnames Azerbaijan, mixes up Armenia again

PanARMENIAN.Net - U.S. President Donald Trump has once again confused Armenia with Albania while speaking about the normalization of relations with Azerbaijan. The incident occurred during a joint press conference with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

Trump also mispronounced the name of Azerbaijan.

“We, for example, secured the settlement between Aberbaijan and Albania,” he said, adding that the conflict “has lasted for many years,” according to TASS.

Trump previously made similar errors during an interview with Fox News on September 12 and in another interview with U.S. journalist Mark Levin back in August.

He also shared some details from negotiations between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan that reportedly took place at the White House.

“They started on opposite ends of the Oval Office, so far apart I didn’t think that was even possible. But after a full hour together, they moved closer and closer. By the end, we were all hugging,” Trump said, according to Minval.az .

On September 18, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed the confusion, stating that any person — including a world leader — can correct their mistakes when appropriate. He noted that Trump had already done so in a recent tweet.
