Bako Sahakyan signed a decree to award RA Honored Coach Yuri Babayan

PanARMENIAN.Net - On 9 July NKR President Bako Sahakyan signed an award decree.



According to decree, for contribution to the development of physical culture and sports as well as in connection with the 80th birthday, RA honored coach, honored worker of physical culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, freestyle wrestling coach of the Yerevan State Sports College of Olympic Reserve Yuri Babayan was awarded with the "Gratitude" medal, NKR President's Press Service reported.



Yuri Babayan trained great many outstanding sportsmen, including Vahan Zatikyan, Lyova Vardanyan, Levon Hayrapetyan, Stepan Sargsyan. Dozens of his trainees earned Master of Sport degrees, won European, Olympic and world championships.



In 2005 he was awarded with "Competence and professionalism" medal in Khasavyurt, Dagestan and in 2008 Honorary Khasavyurt Citizen's title was bestowed on him for significant contributions in free style wrestling.
