10 arrested in Yerevan for illegal weapons and drugs![]() October 8, 2025 - 19:09 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Ten individuals were arrested in Yerevan following a police operation targeting suspected possession of illegal firearms and drugs. The arrests took place on October 3, when officers from the Criminal Police Department, in coordination with the Yerevan city division, acted on intelligence that a 32-year-old man and his associates were moving around the capital in several vehicles while illegally carrying firearms, cold weapons, and drugs. At around 6:00 p.m., officers located the suspects at the intersection of Garegin Nzhdeh and May 9 Streets. They were found in four cars — a Mercedes, a BMW, and two Porsche vehicles. Some attempted to flee the scene, but police prevented the escape. All ten individuals were detained and brought, along with the vehicles, to the General Department of Criminal Police. A search of a 36-year-old suspect revealed a combat pistol loaded with seven rounds. Another 36-year-old was found carrying a concealed locking knife. A 41-year-old man had a similar knife and two packets of cocaine in his possession. The seized vehicles were transported to a secure storage facility and sealed. A criminal case has been initiated by the Investigative Department of the Shengavit Administrative District. The 41-year-old suspect has been placed under arrest and transferred to a correctional institution. The investigation is ongoing to determine further circumstances.
