RA ambassador, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State discuss TRIPP

PanARMENIAN.Net - On October 8, Armenia’s Ambassador to the United States Narek Mkrtchyan met with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State for Political Affairs, Alison Hooker, to discuss the implementation of agreements signed on August 8 in Washington, including U.S.–Armenia Memoranda of Understanding and the launch of the TRIPP initiative.

According to the Armenian Embassy, Hooker reaffirmed the U.S. commitment to promoting peace and regional cooperation in the South Caucasus.

In Washington, Armenian, Azerbaijani, and U.S. leaders—Nikol Pashinyan, Ilham Aliyev, and Donald Trump—officially agreed to launch the Trump Route.

“This corridor will allow Azerbaijan to access Nakhichevan while fully respecting Armenia’s sovereignty. Armenia is also establishing an exclusive partnership with the United States to develop this route. The term may be extended up to 99 years, with another 99-year extension already promised. We anticipate major infrastructure development. U.S. companies are eager to enter these markets and invest heavily, which will bring economic benefits to all three countries,” Trump stated.

On September 11, Prime Minister Pashinyan said that Armenia had not leased land to the U.S. for 99 years, but had granted a construction right.
