'HayaQve': unpleasant surprises may await authorities before elections

PanARMENIAN.Net - The "HayaQve" initiative, commenting on the political landscape, stated that while no single opposition force currently has a higher rating than Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, this may change before the elections.

According to the initiative, “many unpleasant surprises could await the authorities before the elections.”

“After all, the elections are months away, and much can change in that time. Authorities could face many unpleasant surprises, with some opposition leaders potentially gaining significantly higher approval ratings than the government. A major opposition alliance might also emerge. That’s one possible scenario.

It’s also possible that several opposition blocs will participate in the elections and, collectively, garner more votes than the ruling party. They could then unite around a mutually acceptable candidate. This is exactly what happened in Gyumri,” the statement noted.

Parliamentary elections in Armenia are scheduled for June 2026.
