According to the draft resolution: “Based on Article 12, Clause 23 of the Law on Local Self-Government in the City of Yerevan, and Clause 4 of the procedure approved by Government Decision No. 2387-N of December 29, 2005, the Yerevan City Council resolves to rename Leningradyan Street (from the Great Hrazdan Bridge to the intersection of Sebastia and G. Hasratyan streets) in the Ajapnyak and Malatia-Sebastia administrative districts to ‘Kirk Kerkorian Street’.”

Earlier, it was announced that Kristine Vardanyan, a member of the “Civil Contract” faction in the City Council, had initiated a proposal to rename additional streets in the Ajapnyak district.

The plan includes renaming 5th Street in the Silikyan neighborhood after celebrated composer and People’s Artist of the Armenian SSR, Alexander Arutyunyan, and renaming 6th Street after notable composer Aram Satunts.
