Mayor of Yerevan swears inJune 11, 2009 - 14:04 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Gagik Beglaryan was inaugurated as Mayor of Yerevan today. The ceremony was held in presence of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, NA chairman Hovik Abrahamyan, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan and Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II. The event started with the hymn of Armenia. Then honorable residents of Yerevan - composer Martin Vadazaryan and actor Vladimir Msryan - decorated the Mayor with a chain. Gagik Beglaryan swore on the Law on Yerevan and was blessed by Primate of AAC Ararat Patriarchate, Archbishop Navasard Kchoyan. "I know that Yerevan residents have beg expectations for the city administration. We are facing numerous problems, which will be addressed," the Mayor said. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
