No investigation yet over alleged Archbishop video

PanARMENIAN.Net - Despite the widespread circulation of leaked intimate videos allegedly featuring Archbishop Arshak Khachatryan, Armenian law enforcement authorities have not yet initiated criminal proceedings, reports Factor.am .

The Investigative Committee stated that it received a report from the Prosecutor’s Office on October 29 and that a decision on whether to launch a criminal case will be made within 24 hours of assigning it to an investigator.

The videos first surfaced on the Telegram channel “Armenian WikiLeaks” on October 25. Although the channel has since been blocked for violating Telegram’s terms of service, the footage has continued to circulate on other platforms.

Following the leak, the Union of Informed Citizens NGO filed a formal crime report, which was sent to the Investigative Committee after three days of review.
