RA NOC President awarded winners of European Wrestling ChampionshipJune 11, 2009 - 18:43 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - President of Armenian National Olympic Committee (NOC) Gagik Tsaroukyan, leader of "Prosperous Armenia" party, has today awarded the winners of European Championship in Greco-Roman and Freestyle Wrestling.Money awards were given to RA Greco-Roman Wrestling team's chief coach Levon Djulfalakyan and his son - European champion in Greco-Roman wrestling Arsen Djulfalakyan, as well as freestyle wrestling team's coach Arayik Baghdatyan and bronze medal winners Zhirayr Hovhannisyan (weigh class: 66 kg.) and Edgar Yenkoyan (weigh class: 96 kg.). Apart from wrestlers, prize winner of Taekwondo Youth Championship (held in Sweden on May 27-31) Varag Ahgadjanyan was also given award. Congratulating all sportsmen once again, NOC President thanked them for their investment in Armenian sports development. "I am always ready to assist young sportsmen in their endeavors. I hope they'll make us happy with their brilliant achievements on international arena. I recently gave award to European weightlifting champion Arakel Mirzoyan and his father and personal coach Hovhannes Mirzoyan. Today, we have another father-and-son sportsmen deserving award. They are Levon and Arsen Djulfakyans. I hope our young wrestlers will keep up with their success, striving for World Champion's title." In his turn, Arsen Djulfakyan expressed his gratitude to NOC President, noting that such attention stimulates young sportsmen, serving as a groundwork for their success on the international arena.
