Azerbaijan says “corridor” infrastructure works in final phase

PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijani presidential aide Hikmet Hajiyev has stated that construction on the Azerbaijani section of the so-called “Zangezur Corridor”, reaching up to the border with Armenia, is nearing completion, according to Minval.az .

"Azerbaijan is carrying out large-scale efforts to establish new transport and logistics links in the region," he said.

Previously, Baku officials had reported that 95% of the Horadiz–Jabrayil–Zangilan–Aghbend road—presented as part of the "Zangezur Corridor"—was already complete.

Meanwhile, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan reiterated in parliament on September 10 that no such corridor will exist on Armenian territory, stating:

“There can be no infrastructure named ‘Zangezur Corridor’ within Armenia. If Azerbaijan wants to name some infrastructure on its own territory however it likes, even after Donald Trump, that’s their issue, not ours.”
