Hayk Babayan to lead police guard

PanARMENIAN.Net - MP Armen Khachatryan from the ruling Civil Contract party has announced that Major General Hayk Babayan will soon be appointed as the commander of the Police Guard, Factor.am reports.

Earlier, it was revealed that Babayan had been relieved of his duties as Commander of the Police Troops and concurrently as Deputy Chief of Police by a presidential decree.

Babayan had been serving as the Commander of Armenia’s Police Troops since November 2020.

On October 24, 2024, the National Assembly of Armenia passed legislation establishing a Police Guard, set to come into force on November 1, 2025.
