Azerbaijan says Aliyev visit to Yerevan unlikely

PanARMENIAN.Net - Hikmet Hajiyev, Azerbaijani President’s aide, said it is unlikely that Ilham Aliyev will attend the European Political Community (EPC) summit scheduled to take place in Yerevan in spring 2026, Minval.az reports.

"We have not yet received an official invitation letter for President Aliyev’s participation in the summit. Secondly, under the current circumstances, we do not believe Azerbaijan's highest-level participation in this event is possible," Hajiyev stated.

Earlier reports indicated that the presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkey were invited to attend the 8th EPC summit in Yerevan next spring. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan clarified that the invitations were verbal and no formal documents had been sent yet.
