Sargsyan: at least we secured pledge to publish documents

PanARMENIAN.Net - Former Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, speaking to reporters before a court hearing, responded to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s latest remarks regarding Sargsyan’s interview.

“The important thing is that we’ve at least managed to extract a promise to publish the negotiation documents. Let’s see,” Sargsyan said, according to Panorama.am.

Pashinyan had earlier posted on social media: “S.S. has once again spoken about negotiation documents. Don’t be upset, I’ve organized the key documents of the negotiation history (including 2019), we’re scanning them now, and I’ll publish them all before year’s end, including some public documents.”

The prime minister added: “I’ll also include one of your letters, just so you don’t think I’m holding back. When you wake up, notify the LTP and the RK, too.”

In his interview, Sargsyan had stated that one of the main reasons behind the 44-day war was the government's withdrawal from the negotiation process. According to him, the Armenian side had presented an unclear proposal, which led to the suspension of talks.

The third president also argued that the current leadership initially lacked a full grasp of the negotiation process, noting that “just reading the documents is not enough to understand where they would have taken the sides.”
