Civil Contract dominates Vagharshapat local elections![]() November 17, 2025 - 11:09 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Preliminary results from all 47 polling stations in Vagharshapat community of Armavir Province indicate that the Civil Contract party received the most votes, according to the Central Electoral Commission. As per the published data, the number of registered voters in this Armavir community was 69,866, with 31,535 citizens participating in the election. Civil Contract, headed by Argishti Mehakyan, received the highest number of votes in Vagharshapat. Invalid ballots totaled 132, and there were 23 recorded irregularities. Vote distribution was as follows:
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated on his Facebook page that the outcome of the Vagharshapat elections is “an important boost for liberating the Mother See,” adding that “the people will win the 2026 parliamentary elections.” “Dear voters of the Vagharshapat community, I bow to you and congratulate you first and foremost on holding democratic elections. According to preliminary results, Civil Contract can govern the community independently without forming a coalition. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
