Apple to send delegation to Armenia to explore expansion

PanARMENIAN.Net - Apple is preparing to send a delegation to Armenia to explore opportunities for expanding its presence in the country. The plan was discussed during a meeting between Armenia’s Ambassador to the U.S., Narek Mkrtchyan, and Jason Lundgaard, Apple’s Senior Director of International Cooperation, the Armenian Embassy reported.

Ambassador Mkrtchyan presented the August 8 Memorandum of Understanding signed between Armenia and the U.S. Trade Representative’s Office, focused on innovation partnerships in artificial intelligence and semiconductors. He also outlined Armenia’s tech sector advantages and the investment environment.

The two discussed potential areas for cooperation and the conditions needed for Apple to establish operations in Armenia.

Mkrtchyan expressed appreciation to Lundgaard for Apple’s launch of its first educational initiative in Armenia through the Armenian College of Creative Technologies (ACT). Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding this educational program.

Notably, Firebird—a U.S.-based AI cloud and infrastructure company—has received U.S. export clearance and announced a $500 million investment in Armenia as the first stage of a multibillion-dollar project aimed at building high-power AI supercomputing infrastructure in the region.
