Spartak Ghukasyan arrested in hooliganism case

PanARMENIAN.Net - Spartak Ghukasyan, the son of Gyumri Маyor Vardan Ghukasyan, has been placed under arrest. The Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction, presided over by Judge Tatevik Muradyan, granted the motion for his detention, the Investigative Committee reported, as cited by "Pastinfo".

He was initially detained on November 20 near the Gyumri Investigative Division, where he had been summoned for questioning as part of a criminal investigation.

The Investigative Committee stated that charges have been brought against an individual under Article 297, Part 2, Points 1 and 3 of Armenia’s Criminal Code, which pertains to hooliganism committed by a group using information or communication technologies.

The case concerns a statement Spartak Ghukasyan allegedly made after a court session, which the Investigative Committee claims contained offensive language and served as grounds for initiating the proceedings.
