Connection fees for new ЕNA subscribers may be revised![]() November 25, 2025 - 15:48 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian government is reviewing the possibility of lowering the connection fees for new subscribers of Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA). During a meeting with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, ENA interim manager Romanos Petrosyan reported that internal assessments already indicate a potential 30–40% reduction in connection costs. While acknowledging public complaints over the earlier price hike, Pashinyan emphasized that pricing revisions must not be driven by populism. “If we confirm that the rates are indeed too high, we should reduce them to a reasonable baseline plus a symbolic amount earmarked for system development,” the Prime Minister stated. He also warned against politically motivated price cuts that could jeopardize the energy system’s sustainability in the future. Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”. Armenia will loan 2.9 billion drams to Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), according to a draft government decision. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has “strongly condemned” Armenia’s decision. Kerobyan has said that for the first time in the history of Armenia, the volume of foreign direct investments amounted to about $1 billion. Partner news |
