Pashinyan says no business should underpay taxes![]() November 27, 2025 - 15:36 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated during a government meeting on November 27 that in recent months he has received multiple letters from business owners expressing dissatisfaction with what they see as overly strict practices from Armenia’s tax and investigative authorities. In response, Pashinyan reiterated the government’s principle: no business in Armenia should pay even one luma less than the tax and duty legally required, reports 1lurer.am . “Our principle is that no business in Armenia should have reason to claim that the government has collected even one luma more than necessary in taxes or duties. But on the other hand, our position is also that no business should pay even one luma less than the amount set by law. I believe this is a very important, principled, lawful, and fair approach,” Pashinyan stated. He also announced that a workshop with business representatives will take place on Saturday, during which this issue will be discussed. Pashinyan said he forwarded some of the letters to Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan for review to determine which claims are justified. After hearing Khachatryan’s feedback, the government will consolidate its stance on the matter. “But in all cases, our principle is already clear: not one luma more, not one luma less,” he emphasized. Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”. Armenia will loan 2.9 billion drams to Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), according to a draft government decision. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has “strongly condemned” Armenia’s decision. Kerobyan has said that for the first time in the history of Armenia, the volume of foreign direct investments amounted to about $1 billion. Partner news |
