Simonyan raises POW issue with Greek Foreign Minister

PanARMENIAN.Net - On December 1, the Armenian parliamentary delegation led by National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan met with Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis as part of an official visit to Greece.

During the meeting, the sides discussed Armenian-Greek bilateral relations, Armenia–EU cooperation, developments in the Armenia–Azerbaijan peace process, and recent regional events.

Speaker Simonyan drew special attention to the issue of Armenian prisoners, including those illegally detained or missing in Azerbaijan, highlighting the importance of international support for their release.

The two officials also discussed the TRIPP project (Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity) initiative and Armenia’s proposed Crossroads of Peace regional project.

According to Azerbaijani media, prosecutors have demanded life sentences for former Nagorno-Karabakh officials, including ex-President Arayik Harutyunyan, ex-Foreign Minister Davit Babayan, and other top military and political figures. Sentencing requests for other detainees range from 16 to 20 years.
