Finance Minister: prosperity now a daily reality in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - During a parliamentary discussion on the draft 2026 state budget, Armenia’s Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan stated that a prosperous life in Armenia is no longer a distant political promise, but a “daily, tangible reality” offering people “immeasurable freedom and great opportunities to grow and thrive within our country.”

He added that the latest analysis of 2025 budget performance suggests the year-end deficit will not exceed the projected 5.5 percent.

“As a result, the national debt will remain below 50 percent of GDP,” the minister said, according to Auroranews.am .

Hovhannisyan noted that Armenia enters 2026 with strong economic confidence, manageable debt, and a firm belief in the future. He emphasized the ongoing reforms, which he believes will continue to yield results by fully realizing the economy’s potential and ensuring a targeted and fair public administration system.

The minister also said that the draft budget had been revised, though core macroeconomic indicators remain unchanged. Adjustments have been made to funding levels for certain ministries, with increased allocations for the Ministries of Economy and Labor and Social Affairs.
