Аrmenia, UK aim to deepen defense ties

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan met with the UK Minister of State for Defense, Lord Vernon Rodney Coaker, and the UK’s first resident defense attaché to Armenia, Major Thomas Shoreland-Boll, at the Ministry’s headquarters.

The sides discussed a number of issues related to defense cooperation between Armenia and the United Kingdom. They assessed the current level of cooperation as positive and expressed readiness to further develop and strengthen their defense partnership.

Papikyan and Coaker specifically emphasized the importance of appointing resident defense attachés in both countries, noting that this step would significantly contribute to deepening defense relations between Armenia and the UK.

They also exchanged views on international and regional security matters.

The meeting was also attended by Armenia’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Varuzhan Nersesyan, and UK Ambassador to Armenia, Alexandra Cole.
