Construction sector in Armenia grows by over 20%![]() December 9, 2025 - 19:17 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Between January and October 2025, Armenia recorded AMD 551.4 billion in construction work, marking a 20.6% increase compared to the same period in 2024, according to the Statistical Committee. Of the total volume, 26.3%, or AMD 145.2 billion, was funded through the state budget, representing a 38.2% year-on-year rise. Construction financed by local communities totaled AMD 27.9 billion, accounting for 5.1% of the overall figure and increasing by 28.4% compared to the same period last year. Private sector construction by organizations reached AMD 256.3 billion, or 46.5% of the total volume, an increase of 15.5%. Meanwhile, foreign investor-funded construction fell by 2.4%, totaling AMD 1.27 billion. Individual-funded construction rose by 14.9% to AMD 120.1 billion, representing 21.8% of total construction. Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”. Armenia will loan 2.9 billion drams to Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), according to a draft government decision. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has “strongly condemned” Armenia’s decision.
