Khot–Vorotan road construction completed in Syunik

PanARMENIAN.Net - Construction of the Khot–Vorotan road in Armenia’s Syunik Province has been completed, according to Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Minister Davit Khudatyan.

“The Khot–Vorotan road in Syunik Province is now complete. The 10-kilometer section cost 5.2 billion drams,” Khudatyan said.

The need to reconstruct this road emerged after a section of the Goris–Kapan highway passing through Vorotan village was handed over to Azerbaijan.

Already in 2023, it was reported that some parts of the newly constructed road needed to be resurfaced, as they were damaged by landslides triggered by flash floods. Intense rainfall had oversaturated the slopes, causing collapses. By late June 2024, another section had sustained damage due to heavy downpours.
