Five Armenian boxers reach World Championships semis

PanARMENIAN.Net - Five members of Armenia’s national boxing team have advanced to the semifinals of the World Boxing Championships, the Armenian Boxing Federation announced.

“This is a historic achievement for the Armenian national team, which is progressing to the World Championship semifinals, featuring competitors from 108 countries. Never before has Armenia’s senior team secured five semifinal spots and guaranteed five medals at a world championship,” the statement said.

On December 11, at 16:00 local time, Artur Bazeyan, Hovhannes Bachkov, Rafael Hovhannisyan, and Davit Chaloyan will enter the ring in the first session. Rudolf Garboyan will compete later at 21:00.

The ongoing tournament in Dubai has already seen Armenia’s team deliver a record performance, with nine athletes reaching the quarterfinals.
